Hardware warranty

Skysign warrants all hardware purchased from us, including any manufacturer�s LED Displays, wireless or Ethernet telemetry devices, miscellaneous cables and accessories, and wireless modems for a period of 1 year (5 year warranty on Outdoor Signs) from the date of purchase.

Should any hardware purchased from Skysign require service during the warranty period, customer must call Skysign technical support and attempt to resolve the issue. If the issue cannot be resolved by phone, Skysign will issue an RMA number to customer. Customer must ship defective product to Skysign at above address. Skysign will repair or replace the product, and ship replacement product to customer.

Beyond the warranty period, customer may send the sign to us and have it fixed for a flat fee of $99.00 (Does not apply to outdoor signs).

Skysign Communications Choices and Considerations

Skysign�s Web access to your LED Digital Display can be used with all of Skysign�s communication service offerings. The choice of which service is best depends on several factors and upon the application desired.

The most reliable Skysign service offering is the SkyWired group of products. This service uses the internet to transmit the data which you desire to be displayed on the LED digital displays. It will work wherever an always on internet connection is available, and a wired or wireless connection can be made between the LED Digital display and a host computer. The connection may be either a directly wired serial connection, a pair of point to point modems, or an Ethernet connection to a Local Area Network (LAN) or a Wide Area Network (WAN). In applications where a host computer is not available, and the Sky Wired services customizable features are desired, a wireless modem with a dedicated data account can be used in place of the host PC. This option is used in applications where it is not possible to connect a host computer to the LED digital display due to physical limitations or due to company security policies which restrict access to network ports.

The customer customizable features of the Skysign SkyWired product include custom messaging, Associated Press News and Sports Headlines, Sports Network Scores and Odds, Weather Reports and 3 day Forecasts for any US Zip Code, and Stock Market Ticker Updates. All of these features, as well as our custom messaging service, is user selectable, using the Skysign web interface.

When considering which communications connectivity is best for a particular application, consideration must be given to how many LED displays are to be connected and to existing network considerations. The Ethernet connectivity is the most versatile and reliable connectivity for multiple displays where the same message is being sent to all displays in the network and an ethernet LAN or WAN is available. In this situation, an IP address is assigned to each display equipped with an ethernet adapter.

Skysign�s other service offering is the SkyWireless Product line. This service uses an inexpensive telemetry device and is a total plug and play option. It can be used wherever an adequate American Messaging Services paging signal is available. No computer connectivity is required for this service. The wireless telemetry device is just attached to the LED display and any internet equipped computer is capable of sending user customizable messages to the display using the wireless network. An optional standard news and sports feed can also be provisioned with the Sky Wireless service. This optional service is not customizable by the user and is not capable of delivering the Local Weather or the Stock Tickers available in the SkyWired service.

The SkyWireless service is a great product where the SkyWired product connectivity options are not cost effective and an inexpensive multi sign network is desired. But as with all wireless services the following disclaimer by our wireless service provider must be acknowledged.

As with most wireless services, we cannot guarantee coverage to all locations. Reception may vary near coverage boundaries. Paging and messaging service is subject to network and transmission limitations, including cell site unavailability, particularly in remote areas. Customer equipment, weather, topography, and other environmental considerations associated with radio technology also affect service. Additionally, service may vary significantly within buildings depending on location or building structure.

In spite of the above acknowledgement, Skysign provides the following Service Level Agreement for SkyWireless Services:

After delivery, each individual unit with its wireless device will be calibrated for optimal positioning, by an authorized onsite setup person provided by the customer, and a Skysign technical representative by phone. Once calibrated, should the customer be unable to deliver messages to their display in any one day 24 hour period, Skysign will reimburse customer on a prorated per day basis for any full days, in which the Skysign technical support team is unable to remedy the problem within 24 hours of report by the customer. Should Skysign personnel be unable to initially calibrate the service to meet this service commitment, customer may return the Skysign purchased components for a full refund, or elect to keep the service on a non guaranteed Best Effort Service Agreement Basis.

Note: This Service usually works within 20 miles of most major cities which are shown as service areas on the wireless coverage map. Locations on the edge of the coverage areas many times present communications difficulties and are not recommended for this application. Please call Skysign to determine if you desire to test a location prior to shipment of your sign. A receiver test is recommended prior to sign purchase using this service. A minimal charge is required which is refunded when receiver is returned. If service is viable, the receiver test cost is applied to the purchase price.If service is not available at the location, a full refund of the test cost will be given.
